THB and DB leave the loft at 9am, fly out from SFO a bit late, arrive at an empty terminal of the Istanbul airport (our last visit here: an earthquake while we were aboard the departing flight), and take the short flight to Bucharest. Tauck (our tour company) pick up 4 of us, and 40 minutes later we are at the Athene Palace. Dinner on the back patio of the hotel, and a decent night's sleep (it is 11 hour time difference for us).
