Day 11 Pecs, Hungary

Hot Damn: today was a pretty decent Tauck tour day. It was a bit longer than planned because the Danube has run short of water and Esprit could not dock as close to Pesc as usual.

The drive to Pesc is through a long stretch of agricultural plantings, some plots plowed and awaiting planting, some lush, and some (the vineyards) early in their foliage.

Pesc is a real town with lots of streets, a smatter of people, and school kids. the 8th and 11th graders are in a "test" week and the other grades are staying out of their way.

Our group splits into 3 and our group visits several churches, Roman ruins, and has some free time so DB and THB visit the Vasarely Museum. DB's parents had a Vasarely in their living room for many years.

Then back on the buses to visit a local winery for tasting and a great lunch.

Back to the Esprit to pack up for the ride to Budapest tomorrow. We again skip dinner.

Now the day in pics:

thb steps outside to get away from a really loud organ recital

the ceiling is painted with biblical scenes

French influence: love devotions

THB estimates that 30-40% of Tauck'erswould prefer this method of sightseeing over walking

Vasarely started as a graphic designer

DB pointed out that his was a knockoff of Duchamp's Nude Descending A Staircase
