Day 14: Budapest to Vienna

 

Day 14: THB and DB's last travel day, via car (before flying thru Istanbul to the Loft)

crepes with Nutella for breakfast in Budapest

3.5 hrs thru low flat plains

Robert is our driver, booked through Day Trip; door to door, around 300Euros

traffic going to Hungary is backed up for miles (road work); Robert cam from Bratislava, about halfway betwn Vienna and Budapest, at 2am!!

Late lunch near the hotel

THB and DB eat inside as all the tables in the shade are taken, very quiet, no other tour members around! Nice 2 course meal with lemonade and ginger drinks, 50E

How late was she? 45 minutes!! 15 minute walk to dinner spot; rezzie at 6pm, have to give up the table by 7:30

a double order of first appetizer: crunch fried potato with sour cream and caviar, excellent

cold white asparagus salad, crunchy

And then...nothing. No main courses. No help from wait staff. Nada, zero...45 minutes later we settled our bill (50E) and left. As we walked out, a waiter showed up with the main courses...no customers there now.
