Day 10: Limnos (also known as Limnos)

Weather: Cool, warming gradually

Levnos, a normal little Aegean Sea town rarely visited by cruise ships of any size

this ice cream store was closed, too early in the season for soft serve inside pastry
not to worry, these cones were $3 each and lovely

Book Review: A Time Of Gifts, On Foot to Constantinople, from the Ho Hook of Holland to Middle Danube, Patrick Leigh Fermor (read by Crispin Redman, pub'd 1977): Book 1 of a trilogy, Fermor is 18, multilingual, a gifted artist, and it is late 1933 when he sets off to walk across Europe. After 1200 miles he is on a bridge spanning the Danube. Dense prose (THB had read this one years ago), reconstructed from journals kept along the way, Ferman lives a charmed life, even is stolen rucksack and passport work in his favor. Highly recommended, especially if crossing his path.
