The Day After Trinity

It is hard to turn the herd when all the momentum to completing the immediate task has built up to a final push

Normally THB would include a film in his annual Book List in the Something Else category. Given the topicl intererst in all things Oppy, here is a tip that will enhance your viewing pleasure.

For those followers that have seen the movie Oppenheimer or plan to see the movie, here's one you should consider streaming soon after viewing the new release:

The Day After Trinity, released in 1981 and directed by Jon Else, is a series of interviews with a number of those involved in the development of the atomic bomb.  You can find it streaming on several sites including Amazon Prime (for a small fee).

THB has a small part in the film, see if you can catch his ass diving under an elementary school desk. Rewind if you missed it.

Synopsis below: not really accurate, since Oppenheimrer himself is barely in the 1981 film (he died in 1967) yet he is the primary focus of all the interviews.

When theoretical physicist J. Robert Oppenheimer became director of the Manhattan Project, he brought with him a love of poetry, philosophy and Eastern religion. In the years following Trinity, the classified maiden test of a prototype atomic bomb, Oppenheimer revealed himself as a thoughtful man who felt both a duty to his country and a deep regret for the death and destruction caused by his leadership in the development of the weapon that heralded the arrival of the Atomic Age.

Sherwin-Williams Development and lots of Twin pics

First Day of Kindergarten

Cecily

Jasmine (yes, those are mismattched socks)

THB and DB have lost a lot of E-ville restaurants

Particularly pizza spots. Well, a new one, Psassione Emporio, had opened just before Covid, owned by the same folks that use to own Hot Italian in the Emeery Bay Market, and still make gelato. Highly reco'd

Pizza and a peach salad both excellent, easy parking on 5th near Dwight in Berkeley, and a pint to-go after dinner

Sherwin-Williams update

Side-by-Side Dog Parks: first dog there gets to pick a side

this became the small dog park sidee - this dog is practically lost in the tall (real) grass
there are low spots in each dog park, landscaping or watering or both will need to be adjusted
you get a sense of how massive this car garage is and it is for the thousands of bio-tech workers expected, not for local residents

One short side of the garage is getting "scrimmed" and THB thinks eventually the entire buidling will be ensheathed

you can see the low spots turning muddy
And the apartment on the right (not open yet) is the largest of the S-W newbies
This lampost gets its own strip of grss!

The Emery city park is nearing completion!

More improvements:
