TBH Doubleheader: Openings, April 4, 2013

Hello all:

Today was THB's first game of the year (in person) and it was a triumphant day for the Oakland A's, and thus for THB and LB. We saw a lot of A's victories last year, can there be a repeat this year? Oh, and it didn't rain while we were at O.Co stadium, another victory.

And, in the twilight, THB and DB went to the opening at SF Moma of The Clock, a video installation by Christian Marclay.

It is 24 hours of movie clips showing the "real time" and you watch it in real time.  So, if you wanna see 5:22am, you have to be at the museum, in the theater, sitting on your own 3 person couch (holds 81, so there must be 27 couches), at 5:22am.

After 1.5 hours, THB and DB somehow broke the spell, went to dinner, and then came back to hear Marclay interviewed.

It is pretty amazing: you want to believe in movie magic and be transported to the time and place of the movie (clip) and you are constantly being reminded that you are in the theater at exactly the time being shown. This repeats over and over until finally you just give in. And, you'll recognize a lot of the clips, and many many of the actors.
