Day 2, 3 Likuliku Resort

 

Day 2

Weather: Same-same

Next day: THB is up at 5:30am after a very good night's sleep. 

What happened today:

• Have breakfast, lots of choice and THB goes for the French toast - good!
• Went on excursion snorkeling to Castaway's Reef; THB knocked LB's snorkel off while jumping backwards off the boat, LB takes a break and snorkels the second half of hour. Snorkeling not quite as good as going right out in front of Likuliku
• Have lunch
• Snorkel in front, very nice
• Have dinner
• Get another good night's sleep

Day after yesterday

Weather: Rained at night, very windy before 10am, then returns to same-same

What happened:

• Have breakfast, back to cereal and fruit for THB. Kitchen not quite ready, slow on the coffeed and the lights go out several times
• Had signed up for 9am snokel excursion, postponed until 11:30am due to weather (DB had already decidedd to pass this morning). Snorkel moved up to 10:30, we leave at 11. Snorkeling awesome at Castaways beach, 5 minutes from resort. Drift just off shore for maybe 1/3 mile. Many varieties of fish (50-100 for sure, maybe 150+?) and soft and hard coral.  One of the best snorkels in many a year.
• Have lunch
• Snorkel in front, very nice, see huge menace, the Crown of Thorns; the staff spear them and remove when they get a chance. No turtles seen (yet)
• DB does a group tour of local village
• LB and DB have a drink at the pool, we hear about the village and she hears more stories about how great the fish were
• Dinner includes lovely chocolate tart (more like lava tart) with ice cream
• beddie-bye, another good night's sleep
