Day 3: Port Madryn to ?????
Weather: Warm and windy on land, warm on the ship
(we set the A/C in our cabin)
THB decides
to do a 7 minute workout. Will THB be able to work out aboard ship?
Breakfast
same-same: rice pudding and cinnamon, toast and butter, no caffeine or
alcohol.
Pack up
(very easy: cram whatever wherever, it’s all gonna get put away later today),
apply tags to luggage and lug the bags to the lobby. Now to dawdle again today
before getting on the bus.
We walk the
back streets through downtown to end up Bistro de Nautico again. DB has grilled
jambon y queso panini con papas fritas y ensalada. THB has gigante spaghetti
con seafood, lots left over. Una botilla de cidre (more like Martinelli’s,
sweet) y agua sin gas, $31.
Board a bus
to the Hebridean Sky. We’re too early, they are adjusting the ship’s distance
to the pier and thus when they are ready for us we walk the gangplank and go up
several flights to our room, #604 on the top deck; our bags await us…along with
a big bag for someone in #602 (something similar happened to THB on BAM trip at
Documenta).
1 ½ hours
later, we’re all stowed away. The room is well laid out, we have empty drawers
when we’re done. It’s lovely out, most of passengers are now outside looking
for right whales. Some spotted, and otherwise not too much going on.
A gathering
of all passengers: for greetings from the passenger-oriented staff, safety
features, safety drill, (about 20 of muster near a life boat). Another
gathering for meet-and-greet with the ship’s crew, dinner with NZ couple who
have traveled a ton, then THB fell fast asleep around 9:45. Smooth sailing so
far.
Every airport is undergoing construction, same for every pier? |
